About the University
Cyprus International University (CIU) is one of the largest and most diverse universities in Northern Cyprus, founded in 1997 in Nicosia. With over 22,000 students from more than 110 countries, CIU offers 196 specializations across 12 faculties, covering virtually every academic field.
The academic year is divided into two semesters, with optional summer coursework. A unique feature of CIU is that students can register directly in the spring semester — saving a full semester of time and fees by studying the second semester of year one alongside the first semester of year two.
CIU is uniquely flexible with scholarship purchases: unlike other universities, CIU allows students to purchase additional scholarships even after their final acceptance has been issued — and even after arriving in Cyprus. This gives students maximum flexibility and financial planning options.
