About the University
Near East University (NEU) is the most comprehensive and well-equipped educational institution in Cyprus. With 20 faculties, 6 institutes, 5 colleges, and 32 research centres, NEU offers 196 undergraduate programs and 240 graduate and doctoral programs to over 28,000 students from 143 countries.
The academic year is structured around two semesters, with optional summer courses available. Students can register directly for the spring semester, allowing them to save time and fees by studying across two academic levels simultaneously.

Admission Requirements
- Copy of valid passport (minimum 1 year validity)
- High school diploma / secondary school certificate
- Official transcript of grades (minimum 65% GPA for Medicine; 50%+ for all other programs)
- English proficiency: TOEFL 65 (IBT) or IELTS 5.5 minimum — exempts from university English exam
- Statement of intended major / program
- Deposit: €1,250–€2,000 (Medicine/Dentistry) or €750–€1,000 (other programs) to issue final acceptance
Student Life & Living Costs
Nicosia, the capital of North Cyprus, offers an affordable and vibrant student lifestyle. The city blends Mediterranean culture with modern amenities, excellent transport links, and a thriving international student community.
Estimated monthly costs: accommodation €200–€400, food €150–€250, transport €30–€50, personal expenses €100–€150. Total: approximately €480–€850 per month.
North Cyprus is one of the safest countries in the world and no entry visa is required for most nationalities. Students must purchase a return ticket for the first semester only; a residency permit issued on arrival covers subsequent travel needs.
